The four siblings of Taylor-Joy are from her father's previous marriage. Buenos Aires was her home until the age of 6, after which the family moved into Victoria within London. According to Taylor-Joy, this removal was extremely difficult for her and she was unable to study English in the hopes of moving back to Argentina. Hill House became her school that she chose after being ordered to move schools. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in the school's productions. When she was 16, she left school to pursue acting as a career. Taylor-Joy has always known her goal was to be an actress. It was when she achieved that dream, Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management, offered Taylor-Joy a modelling job.
